  • He’s most famous for the interception that clinched the Colts’ Super Bowl appearance, but that’s hardly the best part of his story.

Jackson grew up in just about the most difficult environment possible. His father was out of the picture and his mother was a drug addict. He was basically an abandoned child, and had to be taken in by an aunt.

He had just enough adult guidance to be able to tap his football talents and earn All-America honors in high school. He landed a scholarship to Michigan, where he became an All-American again. He was a first-round draft pick of the Colts in 2005, but his career was cut short by fluke injuries.

When we had our first conversation in the studio, he was expecting to be re-signed by the Colts the following summer. After all, team president Bill Polian had promised. It didn’t happen, but Jackson didn’t know it yet.
