Larry Bird was voted the NBA’s Coach of the Year in 1998, at the end of his first season with the Pacers. This feature ran at halftime of the Pacers’ Game 5 victory over New York on May May 13.
Bird, of course, would go on to be voted Executive of the Year as the Pacers’ president, which went well with his MVP awards as a player. Nobody else has accomplished that trilogy.
